Kidepo Trail Blackpool Zoo Opened May 2026
This May saw the opening of a brand new £500,000 development at the award-winning Blackpool Zoo. The Kidepo Trail triples the size of the existing Giraffe Heights attraction, providing more space for giraffes Lilly and Olympia and gives more opportunities for visitors to see them from an extended elevation and improved viewing areas. Inspired by the Kidepo Valley in Uganda, the habitat features African savannah soundscapes and safari style viewing points, all the while offering little ones, and big ones, the chance to learn all about these fascinating animals, through interactive educational displays. With this and the arrival of many new babies over the winter and spring, now is the time to head to Blackpool Zoo if you haven't visited in a while!
