Don’t Miss: Morecambe is a great family-friendly resort with something for everyone. Within a five-minute walk of the promenade, you’ll find bowling, trampolining and even laser tag. There are also plenty of excellent play areas, including Happy Mount Park on the edge of town. Don’t miss a tour of the historic Winter Gardens or a stroll along the Stone Jetty, before sampling some deliciously fresh chowder, served from the Morecambe Bay Chowder Company’s solar-powered bike. This year marks the 100 th anniversary of the birth of Morecambe’s most famous son, comedian Eric Morecambe. Events marked his birthday in May, but celebrations continue throughout the summer. Make sure you stop to pose with Eric’s statue on the promenade.
MORECAMBE The most northern of Lancashire’s
more traditional seaside resorts, Morecambe offers a long, wide promenade with plenty of space, play areas for the kids to enjoy and sculptures to admire. It's also home to some of the most beautiful sun sets each evening, with the sun falling behind the Lake District fells on the other side of the Bay.

Don’t miss: While Heysham is a great spot for a cliffside walk and the stone hewn graves and ruins of St Patrick’s Chapel are a must see, don’t miss the chance to visit the historic causeway village of Sunderland Point. This small hamlet of around 30 houses is cut off at high tide so, it’s essential you consult tide times before visiting by car and leave plenty of time to cross if you’re on foot. A three-and-a-half-mile walk takes you around this picturesque village with its abundance of wildlife and history.
HEYSHAM AND SUNDERLAND POINT More rugged coastline awaits at Heysham down to Sunderland Point. Whilst Morecambe Promenade runs all the way to the edge of Heysham Village, once you pass into the village itself the coastline becomes a rugged cliffside once again. From this vantage point, visitors can fully appreciate the sights and sounds of Morecambe Bay and beyond, before descending towards the charming beach below known as Half Moon Bay, a dog walkers’ paradise.
