Back for its 6th year, Darwen Festival of Fun will bring together a whole host of creativity, community and family fun in the heart of the town. Expect exciting dance showcases, creative workshops, classic vintage fairground fun, live music and roaming performers, plus an artisan market and delicious street food! Blackpool Illuminations Blackpool 4th September onwards The world-famous Blackpool Illuminations will once again light up the skies of Blackpool from the end of summer. Don’t miss the illuminations switch on event on September 4th which features live entertainment. Cycling enthusiasts can get a sneak preview on September 1st when they are invited to jazz up their bikes and cycle the 6-mile route during the Ride the Lights event. The lights are an annual institution for so many and light up the sky through the winter and into the new year. St Annes Kite Festival St Annes Beach 4th - 6th September Joined by kite teams from across the UK and beyond, the skies above St Annes seafront will once again be awash with colour as fabulous display kites fill the sky. There will be five flying arenas on the beach, including one outside of the designated dog free zone and a planned illuminated kite flying evening on Friday 4th September as well as a fairground, entertainment, and delicious food stalls.
