Williamson Park and Ashton Memorial
No visit to Lancaster is complete without exploring the Ashton Memorial. This beautiful folly has sat high on the hillside overlooking the city since it was built between 1907 and 1909. Built as a monument to Lord Ashton's late wife, the Lord handed it over to the city along with Williamson Park so that the people of Lancaster could enjoy the sweeping views of Morecambe Bay and the 54 acres of parkland surrounding the monument.
Don't miss the Dukes Park Show from the 17th July. This year's outdoor theatre adventure is Robin Hood!
