Beacon Fell Country Park From one incredible viewpoint to another, head to Beacon Fell Country Park for its fabulous walks, a touch of nature spotting and views across the Forest of Bowland over to the Lancashire coast. Beacon Fell is home to a number of great walking routes, sculpture trails and a brilliant playground, café and picnic area. It's great for letting off steam and feeling at one with nature. Be sure to stop by Farm on the Fell on the way home for some delicious Lancashire made gelato too! The Tolkien Trail Regularly featured on Instagram and Tik Tok it's no wonder The Tolkien Trail is a highly sought after walking route for Lancashire's visitors. This 5.5-mile wander through the countryside near Clitheroe is said to have inspired JRR Tolkien to write about The Shire in his world-famous literary series The Lord of The Rings. Take a walk through Middle Earth and see the sights that inspired him, whilst you take in the beauty of the Ribble Valley.
