Visit Lancashire Summer Guide 2026

VISIT AWARD WINNING LANCASHIRE Each year, tourism and hospitality businesses across Lancashire take part in the Lancashire Tourism Awards. The awards celebrate the hard work and high standards that make the county such a fantastic place to visit - our very own Oscars, complete with glitz, glamour and plenty of celebration. These winners are the very best, so give them a round of applause—and pay them a visit next time you’re in Lancashire.

AWARD WINNING THINGS TO DO

ACCESSIBLE AND INCLUSIVE WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre

LARGE EVENT Blackpool Dance Festival

For the second year running The Blackpool Dance Festival was recognised as the best Large Event in Lancashire. Beginning in 1920 in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, the event has been attracting crowds from across the globe for over 100 years. Although this year's festival has already taken place, the dates for the 2027 event are already confirmed. SMALL EVENT Rossendale Pride This year's Small Event award went to Rossendale Pride, hosted by The Whitaker Art Gallery and Museum and Spectrum Inclusion. The event delivers music, joy and colour in the heart of Rossendale, committing to inclusion and visibility for LGBTQ+ people across the valley each July. This year's event is not to be missed with even more great music and performances, family-friendly entertainment, food and drink, community stalls and activities, and a loud and proud Pride March through Whitaker Park.

Recognising the commitment to creating an environment suitable for all, this year’s accessible and inclusive award went to WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre. Over the last twelve months the centre has improved everything from signage to walkways and even created a fully accessible play area, making it a fantastic day out for all the family.
