Samlesbury Hall is one of the stunning stately homes of Lancashire, a haven for history lovers, where the past meets the present - a fantastic family day out. Explore the Hall where you will discover an ancient, magnificently preserved manor house and gardens, with a colourful history and a wide-ranging programme of year-round events and activities. Visitors can also explore the charming grounds with a beautiful courtyard, the quatrefoil rose garden and children’s adventure playground. There is also a wafflery and restaurant serving delicious local fayre. Free guided tours are held every Sunday, usually at 11.00 am and 2.00 pm. Tour guides are always in costume and often happy to talk on a one-to-one basis either before or after their tours. Themed our guides include the hall’s resident witch, Tom – the wandering minstrel, the Lady of the House and Henry VIII who will enthral you with tales of the many lives and families that Samlesbury Hall has seen come and go over the centuries. From be-headings to bewitchings, their fascinating and often gruesome tales come to life in front of your very eyes. Group Tours – available upon request by prior arrangement. They can offer a packaged half or full day visit for all to enjoy for pre-booked parties of 20 or more. Guided tours last 60 to 75 minutes. There are no roped off areas and visitors can enjoy their tour without undue restrictions.
