An internationally important wetland nature reserve, ranked by Birdwatching Magazine in the Top Ten sites to birdwatch in the UK. A year round attraction, home to a wetland animal collection (mainly water birds) canoe safari and adventure playground. Average visits last for around 4 hours – there is a full programme of guided walks and talks throughout the year. Rare and endangered water-birds can be hand-fed at the centre which is a magnet for thousands of wild ducks, geese and swans in the winter. Between March – October visitors can board a canoe and take a 30 minute expert guided tour of the wetlands. Groups welcome – can book in advance (catering Opening times: Winter (29 October to 23 March) : 9.30am to 4.30pm (car park closed at 4:30pm). Summer (from 24 March) : 9.30am to 6.00pm (car park closed at 6pm). Last admission one hour before closing.
