There are so may great events to enjoy throughout the festive period, and some need booking in advance. If you want to treat the kids to a magical Santa visit or get a table at your favourite restaurant for the big day, many places do recommend booking in advance. Going away in December to catch up with friends before the family festivities? Or getting away over Christmas with the kids? Then don’t forget to pack up the presents you need to give out! Deck the halls Many of our accommodation providers will have festive décor throughout their properties, but others may not. For example, some self- catering properties only decorate if they are asked to, so if you want your holiday home to feel particularly festive, ask about decorations before you go. If it’s not available as an option, be sure to pack a few little touches – you’ll be amazed how far a few small fairy lights can go.
Give yourself extra travel time
Christmas, and the weeks leading up to it, is a time when many people are out and about; buying gifts, seeing Santa, catching up with friends or going to shows. This adds to travel time so be sure to leave yourself extra time to get where you are going. If you arrive early to your destination, then take the time to enjoy the Christmas lights and decoration in the town or city you are visiting.
