GREATEST DAYS IN THE RIBBLE VALLEY In 2023 Clitheroe made the headlines as the setting for the Take That inspired Greatest Days Musical. The film tells the story of five fans as they grew up and enjoyed a boy band reunion later in life. Of course, each year the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom features on Strictly Come Dancing and the Winter Gardens Blackpool on the auditions of Britain’s Got Talent too.

This summer is the 80th anniversary of what has been dubbed the “most romantic film of all time” Brief Encounter. This war time classic was filmed almost in its entirety at Carnforth Railway Station and its surrounding areas. The station now proudly boasts movie prop selfie areas, and the Bistro is a replica of what is seen in the movie. The Carnforth Station Heritage Centre is a must visit for any fans too.
