Visit Lancashire this Christmas

We’ve all been there, those quiet days between Christmas and New Year when the family is off, you’re on your third day of turkey leftovers and just want to see something a little different, but you don’t know what is open and ready to be explored. Have no fear, Lancashire has plenty of attractions ready for you to step into during that “twixmas” lull.

Flower Bowl

HIT THE SLOPES Try something a little different with your time this twixmas and hit the slopes without even leaving the country! The Hill at Rossendale offers outdoor ski and snowboarding sessions with personal, professional coaching for all. There are classes to suit all ages and skill sets, with friendly coaches to show you the ropes. If skiing isn’t your thing but you fancy hitting the ice, a number of the temporary ice rinks in Lancashire are open throughout the festive and new year period including Lancaster on Ice and Blackpool by the Sea. You can also spend time at Planet Ice in Blackburn or the Ice Areana in Blackpool too.

ENGAGE IN SOME FRIENDLY COMPETITION AT THE FLOWER BOWL Home to the North of England’s only curling rink, the Flower Bowl offers so much under one roof. You can enjoy a taster session of curling, a game of crazy golf, crazy pool, bowling, shuffleboard and even catch a movie on the cinema screen. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you can choose from four places to eat and drink too! What more could you want from your day out?
