HALO PANOPTICON WALK Halo is one of the four Lancashire Panopticons. This incredible structure sits above Rossendale Valley, close to the towns of Haslingden and Rawtenstall. There are several routes to take to reach the Halo, but the Haslingden 1km loop takes as little as 20 minutes to complete, perfect for a quick boxing day stroll. From the town centre you go out into the countryside via a grassy path to the Top o’ Slate area, which has numerous paths to explore and is perfect for a little picnic made of Christmas Day leftovers. Time it right and you can enjoy the sunset while you eat, then see Halo turn the night sky bright blue as it’s the only Lancashire panopticon that lights up!
